The Chosen

During a baseball game between two rival Jewish schools in New York, two boys become friends. Danny comes from the strict Hasidic sect that keeps him constrained by centuries of orthodoxy. Reuven is brought up by a father who is very aware of the impact of the twentieth century.

As six million Jews go to their deaths in Europe and the state of Israel first draws breath, their friendship is battered by conflicting loyalties and beliefs.
