Gary Teichmann was the captain of the South African national team, the Springboks, between 1995 and 1999. He led the Springboks to more successive Test victories than any other captain. This is his story: his tenure at the helm of South Africa's team of the 1990s; the 17 successive Test victories; the Natal Sharks; his controversial omission from the 1999 Rugby World Cup and the triumph of the 1998 Tri-Nations.
