The Silent Boy

It is 1792 in Paris and terror reigns in a city gripped by revolution. The gutters run with blood as thousands lose their heads to the guillotine and the streets echo with musket fire.

Edward Savill receives word that his estranged wife has been killed in France and that her young son, Charles, has been taken to Charnwood Court in the English countryside, a house leased by a group of emigre refugees. When sent to retrieve Charles, Savill discovers that the child is mute. The boy has witnessed unimaginable horrors, but he is also keeping a terrible secret. His silence is the only thing that will ensure his safety, or so he thinks.
